Aglaonemas have been grown for centuries in Asia as good luck plants. They are also known as Chinese evergreen and make excellent houseplants. In more recent years Australia is seeing an influx of exciting colorful new varieties. They can be grown as an understory plant in a tropical climate or as a pot plant in cooler areas. Propagation is generally done by cuttings.
They prefer rich moist well drained soil in a warm part shade position.
