Winter is Here! Winter Closing Dates for 2025
Author: ann Date Posted:29 May 2025

Winter has officially arrived for those of you down south, and it’s not the best season for ordering tropical plants in NSW or Victoria. To ensure your plants arrive in top condition, we’re temporarily pausing orders to areas outside the tropics/subtropics until spring.
Preorders will reopen on August 1st, but we won’t be shipping to NSW or Victoria until September 1st.
For our Queensland customers, we’ll continue accepting and shipping orders until June 20th. However, please be mindful when ordering ultra-tropical plants—they don’t tolerate the cold well during transit, and we cannot take responsibility for any cold damage.
Warm regards, Ann & Scott

Torch Ginger
By: Za Manaf on 15 July 2025Hi Ann and Scott, I am interested to get the torch ginger plants since I use them a lot in my cooking. I noted that they might not survive beyond Northern NSW and I am in Sydney. Do you think it will survive in a pot and gets through winter if I bring them under the patio? I also get lots of sunny days during the winter. FYI, I have grown galangal successfully in my backyard. They become dormant in winter but springs back up when its warmer. Please advise, thanks.

Hi, as it says in our torch ginger section we do not recommend trying to grow them outside of the warm subtropics which is north of Coffs.
