Who doesn't love chocolate ?
Cocoa is tropical plant native to South America, although it is grown in parts of Central America, Africa, India, and the South Pacific. It is a plant that needs a hot and wet environment to flourish. Prefers a protected part shade position for the first few years.
The tiny pinkish flowers appear in cauliflorous clusters at former leaf axils that in previous seasons sprouted leaves. The flowers are rather short-lived, lasting only for a day and their fertility lasts only from sunrise to sunset of that day.The seeds are the most valuable part of the plant as they provide the source material for what eventually is to become chocolate. Mature trees start to produce fruit after about five years.
After the beans are removed from the pod, they are left to ferment for 7 days. Fermentation kills the seeds and enhances the development of the chocolate flavor.
We also have wholesale numbers on cocoa available.

Pandanus amaryllifolius 10 plants

P. amaryllifolius is a low growing (under one meter) plant with long narrow blade like leaves and woody aerial roots. It can be grown as a marginal plant in dams and ponds, used as a bedding plant in tropical landscaping and be used to hold creek banks. However it is most widely cultivated for use in Asian cooking and basket making. It is a very tropical plant!
It has a nutty botanical fragrance and is most commonly used in rice dishes or tied in a bundle and cooked with food.

Also useful in flower arrangements. We have an article on pandanus amaryllifolius here: http://nqheliconias.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/buying-pandanus-amaryllifolius-online.html

Absolutely gorgeous. Considered one of the best cut flower psittacorums with large flower size and long shelf life. Flower has a green base running into very bright dark pink on the top half of the bracts with contrasting orange.

Tropifleur

This smaller heliconia is very tough (even in windy conditions), an excellent cut flower, excellent landscaping plant and cold hardy, highly recommended. Aside from that it is absolutely beautiful and a perfect size for flower arrangements. Also makes a perfect sreening plant and flowers happily in large pots.
