Grown since Victorian times this eye catching groundcover is very popular in tropical gardens.

Description

Stunning shady groundcover plant originally from Burma. Metalic purple leaf with iridescent shades of purple, lilac and pink, with purple-maroon on the undersides. Pale blue tubular flowers are born on short spikes. Can be grown like an annual in cooler areas or pot grown.

The plants arrived OK after 4 incredibbly hot days, they are a little leggie but I don't want to prune them just yet. As they were in tubes and quite large plants I have planted them straight into the ground. After a week they are doing well, they are in the shade and are already starting to go more purple. I have very high hopes for these, they are so pretty and I am using them as coloured leaf contrast in a bromeliad garden.
