Jaboticabas are a must have tropical fruit tree for gardens. Originating from Brazil they are very hardy, have few pests and will often fruit within three years and bear up to three times a year. The dark fruits have a thick skin and resemble cherries and are borndirectly from the trunk and branches. Jaboticaba makes excellent wine and are also a great child friendly foraging fruit. They can be pruned into an attractive hedge with coppery new growth.
