Stunning and unusual would describe this plant. Unfortunately, easy to grow would not. It is picky about it's requirements and needs a humid, part shade position in the Tropics. It can be grown in a pot as long as you can keep it warm and humid.
The large pleated leaves droop down and the black flowers are heartstopping.

Doing well in my shaded garden in Central Coast NS
31 January 2024I have one of these beauties in my garden along the fenceline, shaded by palms and a passionfruit vine, doing really well and it gives me the most stunning flowers every year :) Would love to get my hands on a white variety.
