Detailed Description Heliconia longissima is relatively new to Australia, we have imported the seed in. It is a very vigorous large grower with long pendulous flowers that get to well over a meter in length. The stems are a mustard brown color and the leaves have a semi waxy back making this an outstanding landscaping plant in the tropics.
