Boesenbergia rotunda is a rhizome from a member of the ginger family. Chinese Key looks like a cluster of long orange-brown fingers. The interior is more yellow in colour. It has an aromatic spicy flavour. It is most commonly used in Thailand where it is called Krachai
Is probably a native of Java and Sumatra. It is now grown throughout SE Asia. In Thailand it is called Krachai while in Malaysia and Indonesia it is known as Temu Kunci


Growing Conditions well drained rich soil,Do not over water in winter as it is deciduous.
