Populare fruit in SE Asia with beautiful garden worthy tree

Maprang, Plum Mango resembles it's cousin the mango but is smaller. The tangy fruit is usually cooked in syrup or used in sambals. Young leaves from the tree are sometimes used in salad. The tree it's self has a dense crown and is sometimes planted as a shade tree. The new growth hangs down and flushes purple making it quite beautiful.
