Heliconia rostrata "Misahualli"
Rare form of Rostrata with plaited bracts, cold hardy.
Misahualli is one of our original seedling imports. It is a superior form of the more common rostrata found in Australia. It's bracts are very tightly spaced giving it an almost plaited look. It has the typical red and yellow hanging flowers and foliage of rostrata. It is a vigorous grower that does well in Sydney and and coastal area in between Cairns and Sydney. Also grows well in Darwin and sheltered NT microclimates.
A must have for collectors and gardeners looking for feature heliconias for their tropical gardens.
