Tahitian Ginger has long been a sought after feature plant for tropical gardeners. As the clump matures, the masses of red bracts get larger and eventually form a massive ball that lasts for months on the plant. Eventually little plantlets grow from the bracts that can be re planted.
Limited numbers, rarely seen for sale. Don't be fooled by nurseries selling normal alpinias as the Tahitian Ginger, this IS the real deal.
Truly stunning and like no other alpinia, Tahitian Ginger prefers a tropical climate to perform to it's best.

30 September 2025These plants are ready to grow! Quite literally they are bursting in their pots to get into the ground in their new homes. I can't wait to see the first flowers - it's going to be excellent! Thanks heaps for the securely packaged, wonderful plants sent so quickly at a very good price.

Thanks Kelly, it'll take a while before the Tahitians get big heads but definitely worth the wait. So glad you found us and thank you for the lovely review. Ann
Alpinia Tahitian Ginger
13 February 2024I've kept seedlings for few days in original pot then I've separated them like ordinary Alpinia Purpurata into small pots. no transplant shock and plants are doing very well adding few leaves already.

Hi Mark, they are actually offsets from the flower that grow as it ages, not seedlings. Be careful breaking them up so small, I hope they go like gangbusters for you!
