Alpinia Jungle Queen is a large growing alpinia originally imported into Australia as a cut flower variety.
It has large showy pink bracts and tiny white flowers. If using as a cutflower, for longevity, pick when slightly immature before the white flowers start peaking out.
Jungle Queen prefers a tropical to warm subtropical climate and although it can grow in some areas in full sun we find protection from hot midday sun keeps it lush and healthy. We grow it on a forest edge with very little love from us.
