Acalypha hispida Cat's Tail
Cat's Tail is a fast growing tropical shrub that makes a great screening plant. The plant flowers several times a year and produces long sprays of furry red flowers. The flowers are long lived and very showy making it a great little shrub for tropical gardens. It prefers a warm humid position and moist well drained soil. It can be grown all the way down to Sydney on the coast provided it's in an excellent microclimate. It also makes a lovelty container plant and grows well in a pot.
